Afrika Sings! The Late Legends
Sonwa Sakuba Institute for the Performing Arts
Cabaret & Musical Theatre / City Hall

Following the success of Afrika Sings, the Bronze Ovation Award-winning production that captivated sold-out audiences in 2022 and 2023, the Sonwa Sakuba Institute for the Performing Arts (SSIPA) proudly presents its highly anticipated sequel, Afrika Sings! The Late Legends.

This powerful musical celebration honours the voices that shaped the soundtrack of a continent. Through electrifying live vocals, vibrant choreography, and compelling storytelling, the production pays tribute to some of Africa's most iconic and influential artists whose music, artistry, and cultural impact continue to resonate long after their passing.

More than a tribute concert, Afrika Sings! The Late Legends is a celebration of legacy, identity, and the enduring power of African music. Audiences are taken on a journey through timeless songs that inspired generations, united communities, and helped define Africa's cultural landscape. Performed by a talented cast of emerging and professional artists, the production reflects SSIPA's commitment to artistic excellence, transformative arts education, and the preservation of African stories. As the show tours across the country, it carries forward the voices of the legends while introducing their music to new audiences and future generations.

Their voices may be gone, but their songs still sing.
