About the Artists
Pulane Moleko is a multi-talented artistic visionary and experienced theatre stage manager whose passion for storytelling spans across stage, screen, and music. With a solid track record in theatre production, she has successfully managed a diverse range of shows including The Dawn, Psalm69, Vryfees Music Stage, Connecting Streams Festival, Kopana Letsheng Clap n Tap Choir Festival, Booty Call: The Musical, and Fragmented—a VSK production written by acclaimed theatre practitioner Jane Mpholo-Mehlape and directed by the multi-award-winning Dr. Peter Taljaard.
Pulane’s theatre journey began as a volunteer at the Free State Central Music Awards in 2022, hosted at PACOFS in Bloemfontein. Her meticulous attention to detail soon opened doors in film, where she has worked as a continuity/script supervisor on independent short films The Naked Truth, Dijana Maro, and the NFVF funded film The Wrong Interview. She later took on the role of production manager for Monate Wa Keresemese, a 2023 Mzansi Magic short film starring Pascaline Phale, and Mojalefa Tsolo.
The Naked Truth premiered on the National Arts Festival’s online platform in 2023, while Dijana Maro was licensed for distribution on Prime Video International across America, the UK, and Asia.
Pulane’s artistic reach extends in front of the camera as well, having appeared in Checkers and Iwisa commercials (2016), and as a supporting extra in the sitcom Forced Love (Season 2), alongside Khanya Mkangisa and Zola Nombona.
As a singer and songwriter, Pulane is currently developing her debut EP. Her singles Perfect, My Life and Reflections are available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other digital platforms, released under her stage name “Pulane Moleko.” Writing has always been her creative outlet, which led her to the Free State Filmmaker Development Program where she learned to use her writing skills in screenwriting as well.
Driven by a love for stories that reflect real lives and inspire change, Pulane continues to evolve as a storyteller. She recently received funding from the National Film & Video Foundation (NFVF) to produce her original script 18—an exciting milestone that signals her continued growth in the South African creative landscape. She believes in further developing her skills through continuous learning and grabs every opportunity to harness her skills as a storyteller.
